Middle Management -

So welcome to my NineteenSeventyNine blog folks. Hope you'll enjoy the lifestyle tips and hacks that I want to share with you about what I like to call "Middle Management"- that is being 36, English and female and all that this entails... I'm guessing that it might apply to fellas as well, you never know.

At Christmas I was at a friend's house and the conversation turns to "If you could go back to any age, which would you go back to?" And I couldn't answer it because I just thought about 35 where I'm at now? My friends started to yell out random "21", "27" "23 and 2/3rds" and I just thought "shit, I wouldn't go back to being those ages at all, what's wrong with me?"

Contrary to myth, 36 is alright and frankly I'm glad to still be here.

So I'm celebrating Middle Management. Apparently mid life crises now start in your thirties rather than forties and I think that's bloody true because if I hear another millennial mention that they haven't achieved because they didn't make the top 30 under 30 in the hyper connected communications strategist of the year awards sponsored by BookFace then I think I'm gonna squeeel!

To me, Middle Management is looking after yourself and that means having a good clear out of the emotional / physical and psychological bad stress that we experience on a daily basis. For those of you who love a definition, here's one I made up earlier -

Middle Management - phrase

To manage one's life at the juncture of matured adulthood in a manner that is conducive to reasonable happiness vis a vie one's personal circumstances.

This is me growing up - it pretty much sums up my childood and I'm thankful that I have a lovely Dad (and had a beautiful Mom) who raised me to think that that red cape really would launch me into orbit and that I could indeed save the world.
